This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead the execution and continuous enhancement of wellness initiatives that support the Federal Indian Hospital Settlement.
• Anchor wellness support in Indigenous worldviews, cultural safety, and trauma-informed methodologies.
• Supervise the formulation and delivery of holistic wellness strategies that incorporate Indigenous perspectives, healing-centered approaches, and culturally embedded practices into the organizational culture and program execution.
• Develop and facilitate wellness initiatives that are culturally grounded, including workshops, sharing circles, and healing-centered supports.
• Offer guidance and assistance on complex wellness issues using trauma-informed and culturally safe methods.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to weave wellness practices throughout programs and organizational operations.
• Create and uphold culturally safe environments that promote employee wellbeing and tackle systemic barriers.
• Engage with employees to discern wellness needs and convert feedback into actionable supports and programming.
• Monitor and assess wellness initiatives using community-informed and culturally appropriate methods.
• Work in partnership with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and internal stakeholders to enhance wellness programming.
• Foster organizational learning through training, coaching, and wellness-oriented leadership guidance.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in developing and implementing wellness programs rooted in holistic and Indigenous approaches.
• Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Health Promotion, or a similar field, or an equivalent blend of lived and community experience.
• Profound knowledge and comprehension of Indigenous cultures, histories, and the effects of intergenerational trauma.
• Proven experience working in trauma-informed and healing-centered environments.
• Capability to create culturally safe and inclusive spaces that cultivate trust, respect, and relationship-building.
• Experience collaborating with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous communities in a professional context.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management abilities.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team framework.
• Experience juggling multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• A thoughtful, relational, and empathetic approach to leadership and employee support.
• Training in trauma-informed practice, mental wellness, or vicarious trauma is regarded as an asset.
• Familiarity with the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework and other Indigenous wellness models is considered advantageous.
