This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and lead wellness initiatives that are culturally relevant, including workshops, sharing circles, and healing-centered support systems.
• Offer guidance and assistance in navigating complex wellness scenarios using trauma-informed and culturally sensitive methodologies.
• Partner with leadership and cross-departmental teams to embed wellness practices throughout programs and organizational functions.
• Create and uphold culturally safe environments that promote employee well-being and tackle systemic obstacles.
• Collaborate with employees to assess wellness needs and convert their feedback into practical support and programming.
• Assess and evaluate wellness initiatives using culturally appropriate and community-informed methodologies.
• Work in partnership with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and internal stakeholders to enhance wellness programming.
• Facilitate organizational learning through training, coaching, and leadership guidance focused on wellness.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in developing and executing wellness programs rooted in holistic and Indigenous methodologies.
• Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Health Promotion, or a related discipline, or an equivalent mix of lived and community experience.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and the effects of intergenerational trauma.
• Proven experience in environments that prioritize trauma-informed and healing-centered approaches.
• Capacity to cultivate culturally safe and inclusive environments that encourage trust, respect, and relationship-building.
• Experience working collaboratively with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous communities in a professional context.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management abilities.
• Capability to function both independently and as part of a remote team.
• Experience in managing multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders concurrently.
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• A considerate, relational, and empathetic approach to leadership and employee support.
• Training in trauma-informed practices, mental wellness, or vicarious trauma is considered beneficial.
• Familiarity with the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework and other Indigenous wellness models is seen as an asset.
