This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the comprehensive strategy and execution of Toast’s global transportation operations.

• Manage and enhance critical relationships with primary carriers.

• Convert intricate, on-the-ground logistics metrics into high-level strategic business proposals for executive evaluation.

• Serve as the internal authority on trade compliance, proactively informing and advising cross-functional executive stakeholders on regulatory risks and mitigation strategies.

• Develop and oversee Toast’s Trade & Compliance program by collaborating with all essential internal and external parties (including advisors, counsel, brokers, and forwarders).

• Guide and mentor the logistics team in adopting best practices.

• Identify, communicate, escalate, and manage risks associated with international transportation.

• Be a vital member of the team responsible for identifying and selecting vendors (such as carriers, forwarders, brokers, etc.) to ensure Toast has the necessary capacity to execute according to the supply plan at optimal costs.

• Act as a champion for Logistics IT systems by implementing and utilizing technology tools (such as AI, freight visibility, and freight payment systems) while leveraging vendor systems where applicable to enhance visibility into freight and freight expenditure.

• Assist leadership in managing the transportation budget, delivering operations in line with forecasts, while spearheading cost-saving initiatives for continuous year-over-year improvements.

• Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Planning, Warehousing/3PL operations, Product, Engineering, IT, Finance, and Accounting, as well as external partners, to optimize the end-to-end logistics flow of materials and data.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of direct experience in global freight transportation and trade compliance.

• Comprehensive understanding of cross-border regulations and compliance requirements (Customs Broker license is advantageous but not mandatory).

• Strong skills in people management, organization, and communication.

• Excellent analytical abilities and a continuous learning mindset with the capability to present information clearly and concisely.

• Proven track record of establishing control over global transportation operations using suitable tools/systems and KPIs/metrics (costs and on-time performance).

• Demonstrated experience in implementing logistics systems, trade & compliance tools, and collaborating with IT teams to scale operations and/or enable new capabilities.
