This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Act as the primary financial partner for the Syphilis-Free Start program during its multi-country expansion, while overseeing its existing portfolio.
• Develop and sustain comprehensive multi-year financial models that integrate program design, country sequencing, staffing, implementation timelines, delivery models, and funding sources.
• Evaluate and compare the delivery models of different countries and partners, including direct delivery, technical assistance, co-implementation, local partnerships, fiscal agents, and subcontracting.
• Conduct thorough analyses of delivery costs, entry expenses, shared and indirect costs, cost recovery, affordability, funding runway, and multi-year commitments.
• Direct the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, revisions, and scenario planning.
• Spearhead the financial development of multi-country proposals and partner budgets.
• Provide guidance to leadership and cross-functional teams regarding donor restrictions, cost recovery, flexible funding needs, and proposed commitments.
• Establish finance workstreams for potential countries and delivery models.
• Evaluate and design financial arrangements for fiscal agents, implementing partners, subrecipients, and other third parties.
• Develop consistent budget structures, activity coding, and reporting categories throughout the portfolio.
• Lead regular financial reviews that encompass actuals, forecasts, funding runway, variances, risks, decisions, and necessary follow-up actions.
• Supervise donor financial reporting and grant closeout processes in collaboration with Accounting and Grants and Compliance.
• Serve as the daily finance partner for SFS leadership, coordinating assumptions, responsibilities, deadlines, and decisions across various teams.
• Clearly communicate financial insights and enhance colleagues' financial proficiency by providing practical tools and guidance.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline along with a minimum of 6 years of pertinent experience.
• Proven experience in leading financial planning, analysis, and management for intricate programs, portfolios, or business units with diverse budgets, funding streams, stakeholders, and planning timelines.
• Proficient in constructing and refining multi-year forecasts, scenarios, and cost-driver models in Excel as assumptions evolve.
• Capable of translating program and operational assumptions into budgets and recommendations, while articulating costs, risks, and trade-offs to senior leaders.
• Solid understanding of restricted-grant management, proposal budgets, donor financial reporting, cost recovery, indirect and shared costs, internal controls, and financial risk management.
• Experience in evaluating partner budgets and financial capacity or creating financial arrangements for partners, subrecipients, fiscal agents, or other third parties.
• History of enhancing financial processes across teams while managing overlapping workstreams, including identifying dependencies and proactively addressing risks or capacity constraints.
• Ability to collaborate within a matrixed, multi-country organization to support both centralized and field-based teams.
