This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of senior IT platform engineers, fostering their growth towards informal domain ownership in Identity, Endpoint, and Security Engineering; manage the entire people management lifecycle including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, career development, and succession planning.
• Assume accountability for the delivery of major IT programs, including identity maturation, PAM deployment, network-as-a-service implementation, and remote access modernization; while not executing every task, you will be responsible for all outcomes; collaborate with the Staff Engineer to prioritize the technical roadmap and safeguard strategic programs from business-as-usual erosion.
• Maintain delivery relationships with essential technology vendors and implementation partners, ensuring milestone accountability, performance governance, and risk escalation without necessitating executive involvement.
• Lead initiatives across Security, GRC, Legal, People, and Finance as a genuine business partner; convey complex technical risks in a straightforward, actionable business context for executive stakeholders; exert influence without direct authority across various functions.
• Oversee the comprehensive development of Oura's enterprise identity program — including PAM deployment, IGA governance, and Joiner/Mover/Leaver automation, which are critical organizational priorities; ensure that delivery aligns with compliance and audit-readiness requirements in collaboration with Security and Compliance.
• Leverage your technical expertise where it can make the most impact — conducting architecture reviews, making identity design choices, validating vendor technologies, and managing engineering escalations; remain a credible peer to your senior engineers and delivery partners.
• A minimum of 8 years in enterprise IT, with at least 3 years of experience managing technical teams at or above the Senior Manager level within a high-growth, fast-paced technology environment.
• A robust technical background — you have personally built and managed identity platforms, overseen Okta/Entra or similar environments, deployed MDM/UEM solutions, and operated network infrastructure prior to transitioning into management; this hands-on experience informs your leadership approach today.
• Practical experience with Okta or modern enterprise IAM solutions — demonstrated through at least one complete IAM/IGA program delivery; familiarity with JML automation, IGA governance, PAM vaulting, SCIM provisioning, and compliance controls is essential.
• Proficiency across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) — you have experience operating within these platforms and can confidently make informed infrastructure and architecture decisions.
• A proven history of building and scaling technical teams — you have developed engineers into domain leads, structured teams for growth, and successfully retained top talent in a competitive market across at least two organizations.
• Experience in vendor and partner management — you have owned commercial relationships, ensured partners meet milestones, and managed escalation paths independently of executive involvement.
• Ability to influence cross-functionally — equally adept at aligning with Legal, Finance, and People as you are in conducting technical architecture reviews; able to influence without formal authority across three or more organizational functions.
• Exceptional communication skills — both written and verbal, with an executive-ready demeanor; your leadership, decision-making, and building strategies reflect an AI-first mindset and a focus on employee experience.
• Proficient in agile methodologies; utilizing Jira and Confluence as essential tools in your daily activities rather than as afterthoughts.
• This position is part of a rotating on-call schedule for critical IT infrastructure incidents; readiness for occasional after-hours responses is required.
• Competitive salary
• Health, dental, vision insurance, and mental health resources
• An Oura Ring provided for your use during your employment
• 20 days of paid time off, plus 13 paid holidays, and 8 days of flexible wellness time off (prorated)
• Paid sick leave
