This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the daily operations of your engineering pod, including sprint planning, delivery, and team well-being.
• Collaborate closely with product managers to ensure alignment on quarterly objectives, address obstacles, and maintain focus on tasks.
• Work in tandem with engineering leadership and the engineering team to influence architectural decisions, rather than simply participating.
• Assume responsibility for a second engineering pod within 3 to 6 months, once your leadership in the first team is firmly established.
• Conduct comprehensive performance management for 8 to 12 engineers, including 1:1 meetings, biannual reviews, coaching strategies, and promotion suggestions.
• Convert emerging AI strategies into actionable team execution; collaborate across the organization to test and enhance workflows, review cycles, and SDLC practices as organization-wide standards evolve.
• A minimum of 7 years in software engineering, with a solid foundation in full-stack web application development.
• At least 4 years of experience managing engineering teams, including handling multiple concurrent teams or pods.
• Proven history of delivering software within an agile SDLC, with a focus on rapid, iterative development and continuously reducing feedback loops.
• A strong collaborator with product management who looks beyond technical aspects; possesses the business acumen and customer insights necessary for making informed product decisions and navigating intricate cross-functional trade-offs.
• Comprehensive experience in people management: nurturing high performers, assisting those who face challenges, and recruiting new talent.
• Sufficient technical expertise to provide credible feedback on code and architectural choices.
• An informed perspective on the impact of AI in software engineering, considering how processes evolve, not just the speed of execution.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and React is advantageous.
