
Senior Manager, Energy Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in strategic engagement with power utilities throughout the North American portfolio, focusing on both establishing new relationships and nurturing existing ones.
• Facilitate power due diligence for potential sites, which includes the negotiation and execution of utility service agreements and infrastructure construction contracts.
• Collaborate with onsite generation and other service providers to ensure efficient power delivery at Edged locations.
• Address a range of energy reporting requirements that are important for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Work in conjunction with the Investment team, Legal, Operations, and Design and Construction departments to promote a unified energy acquisition management program.
• Assist Edged in meeting its needs for behind-the-meter power solutions, including the assessment of natural gas supply and electricity generation technologies (both existing and new). Provide technical assistance to internal teams for enhanced understanding.
• Contribute to the development of Edged’s demand response program.
• Remain informed about energy industry technologies and innovations to support the evolution of Edged’s energy strategy.
• Keep abreast of relevant energy regulations pertinent to Edged’s current and future energy strategy implementations.
• Document and archive successful procedures and policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy management, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in the energy sector, possessing extensive industry contacts for support.
• Familiarity with regulated utilities and ISOs/RTOs, including transmission system planning and rate design.
• Experience in working with deregulated energy markets.
• Proven track record in negotiating contracts with utilities, retail electricity providers, and renewable developers, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Energy Service Agreements (ESAs).
• Knowledge of gas contracting, covering both commodity and infrastructure aspects.
• Experience in onsite generation system design and procurement.
• Willingness to travel as necessary to fulfill job obligations.
• Proficient in evaluating onsite generation for data centers or other industrial users.
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating effectively with executives and across all levels of the organization.
• Adequate maturity to exercise independent judgment on fundamental projects and assignments.
• Strong analytical skills, including problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, accurate work within defined deadlines.
• Capacity to exhibit a questioning attitude to learn, achieve results, and cultivate relationships—both internally and externally to Edged.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
