Senior Manager, ECAD Library Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Develop, sustain, and oversee centralized ECAD libraries, ensuring adherence to industry standards and Collins-specific design criteria.

• Supervise the creation, validation, and release of electronic component symbols, footprints, and 3D models.

• Promote standardization of library components and processes across all business units to guarantee consistency and efficiency.

• Establish and uphold best practices for the management, maintenance, and utilization of ECAD libraries.

• Implement automation and advanced tools to enhance the processes of library creation, validation, and maintenance.

• Ensure all library components comply with relevant regulatory, industry, and RTX-specific design standards.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for ECAD library component processes and updates to facilitate traceability and usability.

• Create and present training materials to engineers and designers regarding ECAD library usage and updates.

• Serve as a primary contact for addressing ECAD library-related issues and offer on-demand support to engineering teams.

• Monitor and report on ECAD library usage, accuracy, and improvements in processes.

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Librarians, guiding the professional growth of team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in ECAD library management, electronic design, or related fields within the aerospace, defense, or similar industries.

• Proficiency in ECAD tools such as Mentor Graphics (Xpedition), Cadence, Altium, or similar platforms.

• Strong comprehension of electronic components, PCB design principles, heritage Rockwell Collins, and industry standards (e.g., IPC standards).

• Experience with library management software and PLM systems.
