This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the comprehensive delivery of intricate projects.
• Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders as well as delivery partners to provide high-quality cloud and data solutions for our clients.
• Proactively identify and manage technical or operational dependencies across various workstreams to mitigate delivery risks.
• Serve as the main point of escalation for delivery teams, swiftly addressing impediments and resolving issues to maintain momentum.
• Spot opportunities for improvement and contribute to the overall enhancement of Aker’s delivery capabilities and processes.
• Coordinate with other departments (Sales/Finance/HR) to guarantee that project budgets are accurately estimated, costed, and adequately resourced.
• Work in tandem with architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure Aker delivery teams are fully aligned with client outcomes.
• Deliver effective reporting on project delivery, timelines, milestones, and budgets to senior business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Account Managers, engage in client commercial reviews, and assist in the development of Statements of Work (SoWs) for future deliverables.
• Assume responsibility for the quality of the team’s outputs, ensuring high standards of client satisfaction.
• Convert technical progress and risks into clear, non-technical updates for the Director and other senior business stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including engineers and analysts, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement through performance management, mentoring, engagement, and team building.
• Offer constructive and timely feedback through goal setting, regular one-on-ones, personal development discussions, and annual appraisals.
• Foster team camaraderie and collaboration, promptly and effectively resolving any conflicts within the team to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
• Successfully onboard and train new employees, complete probation milestones and processes, create comprehensive induction programs, and provide support and guidance for career development.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a delivery management role with a demonstrated history of leading complex, large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with Public Cloud Services and technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Prior experience leading cross-functional teams, including managing other managers, is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of technical solutions and data integration.
• Extensive knowledge of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and traditional Waterfall frameworks, with the ability to adapt them based on context.
• Proficient with software delivery pipelines, Jira, Azure DevOps, or other digital delivery tools for real-time tracking.
• Strong team management skills, with emotional intelligence to address conflict and motivate diverse teams.
• Experience managing vendors or offshore teams is an advantage.
• Advanced skills in stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution, including comfort in high-pressure situations.
• Capability to comprehend complex organizational structures and multi-supplier environments.
• A driven leader who can shape a team and guide them toward success for our clients.
• ITIL v3 Foundation and/or SAFe Agile certification is preferred.
• Experience with UK Government projects is preferred.
