This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of approximately 10–12 data engineers and DBAs.
• Contribute to resource allocation, organizational structure, and talent acquisition strategies.
• Supervise the design, delivery, support, and ongoing enhancement of data platforms and database-driven solutions.
• Provide scalable ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval solutions for analytics, reporting, and operational applications.
• Champion operational excellence through support practices, monitoring, performance optimization, resilience planning, root cause analysis, automation, and risk mitigation.
• Offer leadership across data engineering, database management, and certain platform/infrastructure responsibilities.
• Advocate for data quality, governance, service reliability, disaster recovery, scalability, and the long-term health of platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, and business teams to create reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.
• Convey technical priorities, risks, and improvement opportunities to senior business and IT leaders.
• Promote engineering excellence, teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and responsible usage of AI-enabled tools.
• Over 7 years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, data platform operations, or similar engineering fields.
• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale data solutions, including data pipelines, database environments, and operational support functions.
• More than 7 years of experience with SQL, database technologies, data modeling, and database performance optimization.
• At least 5 years of experience in leadership, performance management, and developing engineering teams in a managerial or lead role.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience driving operational excellence, service stability, and continuous improvement in complex technology settings.
• Over 5 years of experience collaborating with engineering, infrastructure, security, architecture, and business teams.
• At least 2 years of experience using AI-enabled tools responsibly to enhance productivity, analysis, documentation, or operational workflows.
• Strong business acumen and communication abilities, including the capacity to engage and influence senior business and IT leaders.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
• Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Python; Spark; data warehousing; and modern data platform tools.
• Preferred: experience in platform engineering, infrastructure operations, resilience planning, disaster recovery, or engineering modernization.
• Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.
