This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of the centralized Power BI monitoring and reporting platform, overseeing it completely for the Data Governance, Informatics, and Analytics teams.
• Establish data architecture and schemas that support governance, analytics, and reporting for informatics.
• Design, construct, and sustain ingestion pipelines along with integrations from source systems.
• Develop or resolve issues related to Power BI reports and data models as required.
• Recruit, manage, and guide a data operations engineering team.
• Ensure the platform's success from data architecture all the way through to the final reports.
• Guarantee that sensitive data is managed in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Oversee platform infrastructure, performance, capacity, environmental security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with business leaders to convert monitoring, KPI, and audit readiness requirements into data models and pipeline architectures.
• Set engineering standards, implement test-first development, define "Definition of Done," conduct code reviews, and make architectural decisions.
• Supervise automated testing, integration, deployment, and defect resolution processes.
• Facilitate Agile demonstrations, retrospectives, continuous improvement initiatives, and change management strategies.
• Keep documentation updated for architecture, pipelines, coding standards, testing protocols, and any changes made.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, confidentiality obligations, and HIPAA regulations.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture and engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in building, leading, and developing engineering teams within an Agile framework.
• Capability to function as both a hands-on individual contributor and a people manager.
• Proven experience in constructing and scaling large backend data platforms and pipelines that support BI/reporting layers.
• Healthcare data experience is highly preferred; experience in regulated industries will also be considered.
• Proficiency in defining data architecture and schemas.
• Strong expertise in backend technologies such as Java or Python, along with data pipeline/ETL tools.
• Familiarity with AWS data services and cloud-based data storage solutions.
• Working knowledge of Power BI and DAX.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, JIRA, or similar Agile/DevOps tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related Arts/Sciences field is required.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.
