This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Strategic Account Management: Cultivate and sustain strong, consultative relationships with key stakeholders at significant retail accounts, acting as a trusted senior partner and brand ambassador for Pet AG.
• Specific channel strategies: Formulate and execute strategic sales plans that pinpoint growth opportunities, enhance market presence, and fortify partnerships.
• Enable Results Thru Others: Propel the accomplishment of annual revenue targets across a portfolio of accounts, ensuring the team is accountable to set sales objectives and performance metrics.
• Provide actionable market insights to Sales and Marketing teams regarding competitive activities, customer trends, and shifting market conditions.
• Key Stakeholder Management: Function as a senior escalation point for intricate customer issues, working collaboratively across customer service, logistics, finance, and operations to guarantee timely and effective resolutions.
• Data Analytics + Storytelling: Oversee and assess team and account performance data, utilizing insights to identify trends, modify strategies, and enhance sales activities across markets.
• One Winning Team: Work closely and effectively with internal cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer service, supply chain, and product development, to ensure the team has the necessary resources and support to achieve strategic account objectives.
• Forecasting: Manage annual sales forecasts at both the account and product levels by leveraging historical sales data, current trends, and performance indicators.
• Develop and Deliver Go-to-Market Plans that showcase strong business acumen and the ability to influence and align stakeholders across the organization.
• Trade Resource Management: Plan, deploy, and oversee trade and promotional resources to yield measurable outcomes and robust ROI in line with the approved business plan.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Management, Business, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience: 5-7 years of progressive sales experience in the Animal Health, Pet, CPG, or related industry.
• Minimum of 1 year of headquarters (HQ) responsibility supporting Strategic Pet Specialty Accounts.
• Pet Specialty Business Acumen: Profound understanding of customers and competitors in the Pet Specialty channel, including a solid grasp of retailer priorities, shopper behavior, category trends, and competitive dynamics that influence strategic account planning and foster sustainable revenue growth.
• Digital Marketing: Proven experience collaborating with marketing teams to create and implement digital marketing strategies across assigned retail accounts, including e-commerce optimization, digital shelf management, paid media, and retailer-specific digital advertising initiatives that boost traffic, conversion, and incremental revenue growth.
• People Leadership: Documented success in leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and meeting targets across complex international distributor and retail accounts. 2-3 years of people leadership experience preferred.
• Customer Focus: Highly developed customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and enhance strong client relationships.
• Self-Direction: Results-oriented self-starter with a solution-focused mindset and the capability to operate independently.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including storytelling and executive-level presentation skills.
• Data Analytics: Proficiency in syndicated data platforms such as Nielsen or IRI/Circana, with the capacity to analyze market trends, monitor competitive performance, and translate data insights into actionable sales strategies that stimulate growth.
• Territory Management: Proven ability to prioritize, plan, and organize daily, weekly, and monthly territory activities, including travel.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively, with expected travel ranging from 40%–70%.
