β’ Oversee a team of professionals focused on continuous improvement engineering and quality.
β’ Make decisions regarding employment, including hiring, promotions, coaching, and development, while managing performance.
β’ Allocate and manage continuous improvement resources for various complex Supply Chain projects that align with strategic and growth objectives.
β’ Frequently engage with Senior Management and/or clients.
β’ Direct the creation and implementation of strategies, scorecards, and action plans for key performance indicators.
β’ Collaborate with Operational and SCE CI leadership to align with strategy and assess critical site and business requirements.
β’ Formulate a comprehensive, effective, and prompt strategic and continuous improvement plan to tackle the primary business needs at Ryder locations.
β’ Drive process improvements across all business operations to achieve significant enhancements in key business metrics.
β’ Deliver regular reports detailing data and actions to evaluate progress toward strategic business goals.
β’ Provide training, coaching, and mentoring, ensuring the ability to translate all Ryder Business System concepts and strategic objectives to local contexts, aiding all organizational levels in understanding and applying tools for sustainable business improvements.
β’ Guide business owners in utilizing Engineering, Data Analysis, and Lean methodologies to attain operational excellence.
β’ Assist with start-ups, retrofits, and expansions, including pricing input, go-live, and steady state certifications.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management is required.
β’ A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the Distribution, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Supply Chain Logistics industry.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Access, Excel, and expert knowledge in PowerPoint & Visio.
β’ Intermediate skills in data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX, etc.) are preferred.
β’ Expertise in developing and managing Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, Management Accountability Systems, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S/Workplace Organization is required.
β’ Familiarity with core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics, etc.) and warehouse design tools like CAD (e.g., AutoCAD).
β’ Understanding of Warehouse Management operations, data analytics, Industrial Engineering, different warehouse types (ambient, temperature control), layout/design, and Lean methodologies.
β’ Knowledge of material handling solutions and automation types, including powered industrial truck (PIT) applications, racking and storage designs, packaging equipment, conveyor and sortation machinery, and other automation solutions (e.g., AS/RS).
β’ Lean Six Sigma certification is required.
β’ cPMP and ISO/QMS certifications are preferred.
β’ Certification from the American Production Inventory Control Society (APICS) and/or in Supply Chain Logistics is preferred.
