This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Act as the appointed Money Laundering Reporting Officer (SMF17) for the UK entity.
• Provide second-line oversight for the UK financial crimes compliance program.
• Manage the escalation of suspicious activities, internal referrals, and reporting governance for the UK entity.
• Assist in designing, maintaining, and continuously improving the UK AML and financial crimes framework.
• Spearhead the development of the firm's Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP).
• Lead and implement the UK entity's Business wide compliance risk assessment (BWRA) and control inventory.
• Collaborate with UK Compliance and global Financial Crimes leaders.
• Oversee or coordinate management of UK financial crimes issues.
• Prepare the firm's annual MLRO report.
• Support internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, and bank partner reviews.
• Maintain and enhance UK financial crimes policies, procedures, standards, and governance documentation.
• Create recurring management reporting, governance materials, and escalation summaries for the UK Compliance Director and other senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Legal on regulatory interpretations.
• Assist in readiness for regulator-facing interactions.
• Serve as the designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (SMF17) for the UK entity, pending final organizational and regulatory approvals.
• Provide second-line oversight for the UK financial crimes compliance program, encompassing AML, sanctions, suspicious activity governance, and related control frameworks.
• Oversee the escalation of suspicious activities, internal referrals, and reporting governance for the UK entity, including reviewing and escalating matters requiring MLRO judgment.
• Support the design, maintenance, and continual enhancement of the UK AML and financial crimes framework, ensuring compliance with FCA and UK regulatory expectations.
• Lead the development of the firm's Financial Crime Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP) to ensure alignment with the firm's risk appetite, regulatory landscape, and market dynamics.
• Conduct and execute the UK entity's Business wide compliance risk assessment (BWRA) and control inventory by identifying financial crimes risks, control gaps, regulatory updates, and governance priorities, while documenting findings and collaborating with internal and external partners to implement solutions.
• Partner with UK Compliance and global Financial Crimes leaders to establish a clear and effective UK control environment across onboarding, transaction monitoring, investigations, screening, and related financial crimes processes.
• Oversee or coordinate UK financial crimes issue management, including issue identification, remediation tracking, escalation, and governance for closure.
• Prepare the firm's annual MLRO report for senior management and the Board of Directors, detailing the effectiveness of anti-money laundering systems and controls, along with information on Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), fraud, training, risk exposure, and regulatory standing.
• Assist internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, and bank partner reviews related to UK financial crimes compliance, including material preparation, response coordination, and remediation tracking.
• Maintain and enhance UK financial crimes policies, procedures, standards, and governance documentation in collaboration with broader Compliance and Financial Crimes partners.
• Prepare ongoing management reporting, governance materials, and escalation summaries for the UK Compliance Director and other senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Legal on regulatory interpretations and first-line stakeholders on implementation while preserving second-line independence and effective challenge.
• Support readiness for interactions with regulators and contribute to engagements with UK regulators and other relevant external stakeholders as necessary.
