This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Enhance the maturity of the Safety Management System (SMS) within Tech Ops through effective planning, guidance, training, and oversight.
• Improve management’s decision-making capabilities related to human performance by ensuring that CASS effectively tracks Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) elements, delivering the necessary data, context, performance metrics, trends, goals, and corrective actions in a clear and concise manner.
• Oversee the development and implementation of the SMS in alignment with 14 CFR Part 5 and, when applicable, the guidelines outlined in Advisory Circular (AC) 120-92 as updated.
• Conduct strategic and tactical planning for the formulation and execution of the Tech Ops safety risk profile, to enhance management’s understanding of the operational landscape and support effective decision-making.
• Ensure the regular assembly of the Tech Ops Safety Action Group and Data Analysis Group, as mandated by the GMM.
• Keep Technical Operational leadership informed about hazards and risks present in operations.
• Administer SMS documentation standards that ensure accurate, centralized, system-focused records.
• Enhance team members’ proficiency in facilitating SMS processes through training and supervision.
• Elevate and sustain the proficiency levels of Tech Ops personnel in System Assessment and Safety Risk Management.
• Guarantee the achievement and quality of System Assessments and Safety Risk Assessments through training, process facilitation, documentation reviews/feedback, and Risk Control effectiveness verifications.
• Manage the integration of Tech Ops Safety Assurance input into the SMS, including VDRPs, regulatory findings, negative performance trends, among others.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in SMS is required.
• FAA Safety Management Experience is mandatory.
• Preferred: five (5) years of experience in aircraft maintenance or engineering.
• Preferred: five (5) years of project management experience.
• Preferred: a college degree in Aviation Management or Aviation Safety.
• Required: a solid understanding of AC 120-79.
• Required: familiarity with Operations Specifications D074 and D072.
• Preferred: Six Sigma Greenbelt certification or higher.
