
Senior Manager, Capital & Liquidity Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of capital and liquidity management across Wealthsimple's significant legal entities — involving board and management reporting, planning, forecasting, allocation, and optimization.
• Lead the capital allocation strategy, which includes return and cost of capital analysis, asset risk evaluation, stress testing, and funding strategies to facilitate growth and scalability.
• Oversee and track both internal and external capital requirement ratios, ensuring positions remain within our risk appetite; spearhead periodic reviews and adjustments of the capital risk limits framework.
• Enhance and sustain Wealthsimple's balance sheet and funding strategy, along with capital and liquidity policies and risk management frameworks.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in Treasury modeling, stress testing, and scenario design — and offer thought leadership on how AI can bolster these capabilities throughout the function.
• Collaborate closely with FP&A, product leaders, regulatory reporting teams, legal, and compliance as a trusted advisor on capital and liquidity matters.
• Assist the Director in leading and nurturing the Treasury team as it expands.
• Over 9 years of experience in capital and liquidity management and balance sheet operations at a financial institution or fintech (preferably within a broker-dealer).
• Extensive understanding of capital structure, asset liability management, asset risk evaluations, and balance sheet optimization.
• Strong grasp of regulatory capital requirements for broker-dealers and general capital ratio principles.
• Previous experience in capital and liquidity planning and forecasting, capital budgeting and allocation, and stress testing.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the capability to convey complex Treasury concepts clearly to audiences outside of Treasury.
