This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee a team of three direct reports by establishing deliverables, fostering career development, and ensuring high-quality analytics output.
• Evaluate audience growth, traffic influencers, customer journey interactions, and user engagement patterns.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Editorial leaders to formulate strategy, set goals, and develop the audience and product analytics roadmap.
• Direct the design, implementation, and subsequent analysis of product experiments and A/B testing.
• Provide guidance on key metrics and balance competing objectives.
• Offer recommendations to enhance product offerings.
• Convert intricate behavioral data and insights into clear, engaging narratives and actionable suggestions.
• Uphold The New York Times’ commitment to journalistic independence and its mission to pursue truth and aid people in understanding the world.
• 6+ years of experience in data analytics, specifically with product or publishing teams.
• 2+ years of focused leadership experience managing analysts.
• 5+ years of experience in A/B testing methodologies.
• 1+ years of experience reporting on audience engagement, traffic patterns, or customer journey modeling for a digital publisher or media organization.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL.
• Familiarity with BI/data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
• Preferred: Skills in Python or R.
• Preferred: Understanding of the digital media landscape or affiliate marketing.
• Preferred: A quantitative degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
