This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of a comprehensive project management plan and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful execution from start to finish.
• Develop operational models for new initiatives, evaluating the trade-offs of various design choices (e.g., targeting, payments, customer service).
• Define, monitor, and report on operational and efficiency metrics.
• Proactively identify operational vulnerabilities (e.g., fraud, brand risk) and devise solutions to mitigate risks.
• Supervise multi-layered teams responsible for field team recruitment and management, operations quality assurance, and business diligence support.
• Lead cross-functional project teams, managing internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Directly oversee one or more Managers to ensure high-quality operations and programming.
• Foster a strong team culture aligned with GD’s values and nurture exceptional talent.
• Build and sustain high-quality relationships with donors and operational partners.
• Facilitate communication and alignment among a range of internal and external stakeholders, including GD senior management, donors, operational partners, researchers, and payment providers.
• Contribute to project design and manage new opportunities.
• Assess new markets, including operational diligence, feasibility, and risk evaluations for pilots and inbound proposals.
• Identify and seek out fundraising opportunities for new initiatives.
• Collaborate with the partnerships team to develop content that drives donor discussions and positions GiveDirectly as a leader in the global cash sector.
• Strong alignment with GiveDirectly Values and active demonstration of our core competencies: emotional intelligence, problem solving, project management, follow-through, and fostering inclusivity. • 4-7+ years of relevant work experience in a role focused on problem-solving (field management, consulting, analytics).
• Exceptional ability to analytically navigate complex operational challenges and conduct thorough analyses to inform management and programming decisions.
• Strong communication skills, encompassing speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating with diverse audiences.
• Enthusiasm for dynamic environments that may not have a predefined path to success and involve substantial “learning by doing.”
• Resourceful approach to tasks and the ability to work independently.
• Capability to manage daily operations while simultaneously developing more efficient, robust systems.
• Experience and comfort in developing-country or high-risk settings.
• Strong understanding of the context in the countries where we operate is preferred.
• Experience in conflict settings is advantageous.
• Fluency in multiple languages used by GiveDirectly (French, Portuguese) is a plus.
