This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Comprehend the financial backgrounds, business structures, objectives, and tax situations of Complex-tier members.
• Identify opportunities for optimization while integrating bookkeeping and tax services.
• Provide support, mentorship, and constructive feedback to bookkeepers and tax personnel.
• Oversee the ongoing tax and bookkeeping services for Complex-tier members.
• Evaluate year-round financial activities and analyze the implications of business decisions on bookkeeping and tax.
• Address escalations involving complex member scenarios such as rental property income and multi-state/nexus issues.
• Review bookkeeping records and federal/state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, and schedules C/E/SE.
• Act as the internal technical authority on intricate accounting and tax matters.
• Offer guidance on multi-state apportionment, nexus, rental property basis, K-1 flow-through, and payroll sourcing.
• Collaborate with the enablement team to create playbooks and training materials.
• Enhance skills into additional service types or complex work areas.
• Document complicated scenarios, recognize patterns, and develop training and process enhancements.
• Active CPA, EA, or JD in the state of residency.
• Over 5 years of experience in scaling and integrating bookkeeping and tax operations.
• Expertise in handling complex bookkeeping and tax preparation.
• Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance.
• Experience in preparing Forms 1040 and 1120-S, among others.
• Practical experience in managing high-volume workflows and extensive client portfolios.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Capability to translate complex tax issues into scalable processes.
• Proficiency in using Google Workspace and Slack.
• Experience with tax research and preparation tools such as CCH and GoSystems.
• Familiarity with issue-documentation tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
