This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Take charge of the daily accounts payable operations, which encompass invoice entry, coding, verification, processing, reconciliations, and preparation of payments.
• Oversee accounts receivable tasks including customer invoicing, receipt allocation, debtor collections, resolving disputes, and updating cash collections.
• Execute the complete Australian payroll process, covering timesheets, overtime, allowances, deductions, leave management, new hires, terminations, journal entries, STP reporting, and superannuation.
• Uphold the integrity of the general ledger and carry out reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, clearing accounts, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and balance sheets.
• Generate month-end journal entries, assist with the month-end closing process, prepare profit and loss statements, and conduct variance analysis.
• Provide support for BAS/GST, FBT, year-end processes, audits, and external accountant requests.
• Manage project financial data, monitoring revenue, variations, actual and committed costs, forecasts, and gross margins.
• Create project reports and dashboards for Project Managers and executive leadership.
• Detect cost overruns, margin risks, unapproved variations, late cost commitments, and potential margin losses.
• Implement financial controls, approval limits, segregation of duties, audit trails, and necessary documentation.
• Enhance finance workflows and minimize manual processes by leveraging accounting systems, Excel, automation, and suitable technology.
• Serve as the finance liaison for customers, suppliers, subcontractors, Project Managers, and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior Accountant and cross-functional teams while independently managing assigned finance responsibilities.
• A degree in accounting or finance.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Demonstrated experience in a mid-to-senior-level accounting position.
• Proven expertise in managing Australian accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong background in AP data entry, invoice processing, coding, supplier reconciliations, and payment preparation.
• Familiarity with Australian payroll, including STP and superannuation obligations.
• Solid general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end accounting experience.
• Experience with foreign-currency transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Practical knowledge in project accounting, job costing, project forecasting, or margin analysis.
• Background in shopfitting, construction, installations, logistics, manufacturing, or a similar project-based field is highly advantageous.
• Strong grasp of financial controls and accounting principles.
• Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency with accounting/ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Keen attention to detail and numerical precision.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of financial tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Comfortable engaging directly with Australian customers, suppliers, Project Managers, and internal stakeholders.
• Availability to work effectively during Australian business hours.
