Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer – zOS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer strategic insights and guidance regarding the future direction of the Automation strategy for Ensono.

• Serve as the subject matter expert and primary contact for significant projects and initiatives.

• Engage in the On-call Schedule.

• Handle incident and problem resolution.

• Oversee configuration and customization tasks.

• Establish parameters setup.

• Communicate effectively with vendors.

• Contribute to and participate in technical projects.

• Possess extensive knowledge and understanding of z/OS and its associated product software.

• Configure PARMLIB and customize JES2.

• Provide support in troubleshooting and implementing changes in z/OS environments.

• Have advanced knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and JCL.

• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrate leadership in problem-solving and coordination among multidisciplinary teams.

• Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a mainframe environment within a large enterprise, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent work experience.

• Familiarity with z/OS and its installation and maintenance processes, including SMP/E.

• Advanced knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and JCL.

• Proficient understanding of Unix System Services (USS).

• Advanced expertise in USS file system management and security.

• Experience in software installation within Unix System Services (USS).

• Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.

• Resilience under pressure during Major Incidents or emergency situations.

• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Customer service skills at a management level.

• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

• Must be self-driven and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior team members.
