Senior Mainframe Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, maintain, and enhance the mainframe systems at Navy Federal.

• Configure and troubleshoot specialized operating systems, system software, and tools.

• Ensure seamless system operations while developing new features and functionalities to meet business requirements.

• Operate with minimal supervision, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of business needs and objectives to support projects that influence operational goals.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

• Lead the resolution of intricate technical issues and collaborate with architecture and infrastructure stakeholders to ensure the mainframe strategy aligns with enterprise objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 10 to 15+ years of experience with IBM mainframe, mainframe networks, and associated technologies.

• In-depth knowledge of IBM mainframe peripheral architecture.

• Practical experience in mainframe operations.

• Proven experience in leading, guiding, and coaching IT professionals.

• Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.

• Familiarity with Agile work management methodologies and tools.

• Experience with contemporary change management practices and governance.

• Recent exposure to modern cybersecurity protocols and governance.

• Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
