This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Spearhead the localization strategy, develop operating models, establish governance, and execute scalable programs in accordance with Language Operations and organizational objectives.
• Oversee initiatives within the Localization Department, including setting departmental goals, defining success metrics, assessing risks, identifying dependencies, and making resourcing recommendations.
• Create, validate, and sustain executive-level analytics and reports that track localization performance metrics such as quality, speed, cost, throughput, scalability, margin drivers, and operational health.
• Evaluate the health of localization programs regarding delivery, quality, cost, scalability, tools, vendor ecosystems, resources, and operational risks; prioritize opportunities for improvement based on data and stakeholder feedback.
• Develop business cases for significant localization enhancements, detailing anticipated impact, costs, timelines, risks, rollout strategies, training requirements, and measurement plans.
• Promote collaboration across Operations, Sales, IT, Tech, Language Operations, Quality Management, Vendor Management, and other stakeholders by clarifying interfaces, dependencies, ownership, and escalation processes.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for intricate localization programs, stakeholder interactions, vendor relations, tooling, delivery, quality, and resource management issues.
• Exhibit leadership through mentorship, coaching, expectation management, performance support, and the development of direct reports.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in localization and language operations; propose and implement enhancements as needed.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of localization processes, workflows, documentation, reporting standards, and governance practices.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Localization, Linguistics, Translation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in localization or language services, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or people-management position.
• Deep understanding of localization operations, vendor ecosystems, tools, workflows, quality management, delivery models, and scalability challenges.
• Proven experience leading complex localization programs, operational improvement initiatives, or cross-functional transformation projects.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess operational performance, identify trends, evaluate risks, and propose data-driven improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to engage senior leaders and translate operational data into clear recommendations.
• Established leadership skills, including team development, performance management, and cross-functional influence.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining sound judgment, professionalism, and operational discipline.
• Proficiency in one or more foreign languages is advantageous.
