This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Spearhead the development and integration of contemporary data infrastructure, analytics frameworks, and visualization capabilities to advocate for New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and broader translational safety initiatives throughout the organization.
• Design, create, and sustain scalable data infrastructure and visualization solutions that bolster NAMs initiatives and other TSRS workflows.
• Develop and implement databases and registries utilizing tools such as Databricks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientific, data engineering, IT, and AI/ML groups, to harmonize and standardize data structures across nonclinical and clinical safety areas.
• Establish metadata standards and ontology mappings for model systems, assays, samples, readouts, validation status, and context of use.
• Promote data governance, data quality, and best practices for reproducibility across TSRS platforms.
• Envision, design, and construct interactive dashboards and visualizations using platforms like Spotfire to facilitate AI-supported and data-driven decision-making.
• Translate intricate scientific and technical concepts into clear visualizations and actionable insights for a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Develop pipelines and workflows to merge NAMs data and other internal datasets with enterprise datasets, such as clinical data, through AI/ML methods.
• Employ AI/ML techniques to enhance translational safety analyses, predictive modeling, and emerging NAMs applications.
• Doctorate degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) [and relevant post-doctoral experience where applicable] OR Master’s degree with 3 years of Scientific and/or Data Science experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Scientific and/or Data Science experience.
• Proficiency in developing data infrastructure and analytics solutions within Databricks environments.
• Knowledgeable in relational databases, data engineering workflows, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
• Strong expertise in developing Spotfire dashboards and data visualization.
• Experience with SharePoint-based scientific collaboration and data environments, and integrating data across various platforms such as Benchling, SharePoint, Databricks, Spotfire, or other LIMS or ELN systems.
• Skilled in integrating diverse datasets, encompassing clinical datasets and various structured or unstructured internal and external/public datasets.
• Experience in defining data models for intricate biological entities such as NAMs and advanced model systems, including disease-relevant models, assays, and associated datasets.
• Strong understanding of FAIR data principles, metadata standards, controlled vocabularies, ontologies, and data governance.
• Familiarity with NAMs, complex in vitro models, translational in vitro/in silico platforms, toxicology, and/or translational safety methodologies.
• Understanding of target discovery, translational biology, nonclinical safety, drug discovery, and/or drug development processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the capability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and proactively identify opportunities to connect people, models, datasets, tools, and decisions.
