Senior Linux Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Oversee and uphold corporate Linux environments (including Red Hat, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, and SUSE).

• Direct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical incidents.

• Create automations utilizing Ansible, Bash, Python, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

• Manage infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, and load balancers.

• Administer virtualized environments through VMware and KVM.

• Oversee containerized environments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

• Provide support for cloud environments including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Implement hardening, security, and compliance measures in Linux environments.

• Plan and execute updates, patches, and server lifecycle management.

• Monitor the performance, availability, and capacity of environments.

• Assist in DevOps and CI/CD initiatives.

• Prepare technical documentation, operational standards, and procedures.

• Act as a technical reference, offering support and mentorship to team members.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience (at least 7 years) managing Linux environments.

• Proficient in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

• Advanced scripting skills in Bash and Python.

• Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.

• In-depth networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls, and Load Balancing.

• Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware and KVM.

• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

• Experience in cloud environments: Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Proficient in CI/CD tools including GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Splunk.

• Knowledge of information security, Linux hardening, and infrastructure best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related fields.

• MBA or advanced degree in Infrastructure, Cloud Computing, Information Security, IT Management, or Digital Transformation (a plus).

• Advanced or Fluent English (Required).
