Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer, Bare Metal, Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, manage, and resolve issues related to large-scale Linux infrastructure.

• Implement bare metal servers and oversee enterprise storage systems.

• Collaborate with a proficient DevOps team to improve infrastructure.

• Emphasize traditional Linux administration over cloud-native approaches.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient Linux administration skills (Ubuntu required; Red Hat and SUSE preferred).

• Extensive knowledge in bare metal server deployment, architecture, and management.

• In-depth understanding of server hardware, including BIOS, RAID, firmware, iLO/iDRAC/IPMI, NICs, HBA cards, and hardware diagnostics.

• Experience in designing and managing enterprise Linux infrastructure.

• Advanced skills in Linux storage administration: LVM, XFS, EXT4, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, SAN, and Multipath I/O.

• Strong practical experience with Ceph, including cluster architecture, MON, OSD, MDS, RBD, CephFS, and RGW.

• Capacity planning expertise.

• Performance optimization skills.

• Proficiency in failure recovery strategies.

• Solid networking knowledge (bonding, VLANs, routing, MTU, DNS, DHCP).

• Experience with high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery solutions.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across Linux OS, hardware, networking, and storage.

• Proficient in Bash and Python scripting for automation tasks.

• Nice to have: Kubernetes infrastructure experience (especially with storage integration).

• Familiarity with VMware or KVM.

• Knowledge of Ansible.

• Exposure to AWS/Azure.
