Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and resolve intricate employee exit processes with minimal supervision across various international jurisdictions, ensuring a top-notch offboarding experience for Remote's clients and employees.

• Offer reliable and knowledgeable guidance on key jurisdictions, managing client inquiries related to HR topics such as termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, while ensuring legal compliance and adherence to best practices.

• Independently lead and conduct meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and negotiations regarding separations and settlements, while providing guidance on terminations and delivering outcomes.

• Negotiate and influence favorable outcomes in complex terminations, effectively navigating and directing multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests through a detailed and sometimes protracted process.

• Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits, including payroll, legal counsel, government entities, and trade unions.

• Accurately draft, customize, and manage all termination and supplementary documents, maintaining employee records in strict compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.

• Execute offboarding processes on Remote's internal HRIS platform, collaborating with various internal teams such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance to ensure all aspects of the employee exit are executed accurately and promptly.

• Serve as the first point of informal escalation, offering expertise, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members as a trusted colleague.

• Provide thorough guidance on Remote's Employee Relations resources, assisting clients in navigating complex workplace scenarios.

• Conduct detailed preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, pinpointing key facts, applicable local regulations, and potential paths forward.

• Act as a reliable resource for both internal and external stakeholders on employee relations matters, ensuring the appropriate management of complex cases.

• Educate clients on progressive disciplinary approaches, documentation requirements, and best practices for managing challenging situations.

• Monitor and track ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up and effective coordination with relevant stakeholders.

• Be the subject-matter expert, proactively addressing internal and external queries regarding all offboarding and first-level employee relations matters in collaboration with Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.

• Identify opportunities for improvement, advocate for, and drive process enhancements, automation, product development, and overall customer and employee experience throughout the offboarding and employee relations processes.

• Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments, exercising judgment in selecting methods and evaluating complex techniques and criteria to achieve results, considering the broader needs of Lifecycle and Remote.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, equipped with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle.

• Tertiary qualifications in HR, labour relations, or employment law are considered advantageous.

• Proven track record in independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance; providing comprehensive HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.

• Familiarity with employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and the fundamentals of workplace investigations.

• Proficiency in interpreting and applying industrial instruments, analyzing complex HR issues, and utilizing problem-solving skills to independently develop solutions, conduct research, and translate findings into practical resources for the team.

• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to lead challenging conversations toward positive outcomes, particularly in situations involving conflicting interests, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality as a representative of Remote.

• Advanced business-level proficiency in written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

• A strong inclination to innovate and optimize processes, consistently identifying and implementing automation opportunities while championing best practices.

• Operational efficiency with an understanding of the significance of meticulous record-keeping and data integrity.

• Tech-savvy, capable of collaborating asynchronously across various tools, and adapting to new and evolving systems.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international team in a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment while effectively managing multiple competing priorities. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

• Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, capable of inspiring others.

• Demonstrated proficiency in automation, AI capabilities, and fluency in AI technologies.
