This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Act on behalf of insured clients of a commercial insurance provider in cases involving moderate to high exposure General Liability and Commercial Auto.
• Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation.
• Conduct preliminary investigations, perform legal analysis, and offer legal counsel.
• Assess damages.
• Draft and submit legal pleadings and documents.
• Execute legal research.
• Prepare for and oversee pre-trial discovery.
• Get ready for and manage hearings and trials.
• Carry out post-trial activities when necessary.
• Analyze cases to seek effective settlements and trial results.
• Work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Guide and mentor junior attorneys.
• Provide leadership and training throughout the organization.
• Practice law in alignment with Federal Courts and the ethical standards of the Colorado State Bar.
• Juris Doctor degree.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of Litigation.
• Must be a member in good standing of the Colorado State Bar.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software.
• Familiarity with Lexis or Westlaw.
• Understanding of the insurance sector, including claims and insurance defense litigation.
• Preferred experience in managing claims within the insurance industry and general commercial litigation.
• Relevant experience as a first chair in jury trials is preferred.
• Ability to budget costs and assess exposure for clients is preferred.
• Familiarity with billables and diary review is preferred.
• Strong substantive and procedural legal knowledge.
• Prior experience in an insurance defense setting is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills are preferred.
• Effective problem-solving abilities are preferred.
• Experience in a collaborative team environment is preferred.
• Excellent collaboration skills are preferred.
• Proficient in PC usage.

• Eligibility for an incentive plan / short-term incentive bonus set at 15%.
