Senior Legal Surveyor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform boundary calculations accurately.

• Conduct initial draft reviews for legal plans.

• Collaborate closely with the signing OLS and drafting personnel to verify plans.

• Finalize plan closures effectively.

• Calculate reference plans as needed.

• Create calculation sketches that transparently illustrate the assessment of evidence in line with established legal standards.

• Ensure calculation sketches depict the boundary retracement methodology clearly, facilitating understanding for the signing OLS regarding available options and decisions made.

• Ensure calculation sketches are clear and comprehensible for the CAD Operator responsible for drafting.

• Identify when to consult with the signing OLS for complex boundary retracements or when calculations exceed their expertise.

• Analyze and evaluate metes and bounds descriptions.

• Possess knowledge of appropriate research methods and recognize when additional research material is necessary.

• Familiarity with AOLS and IBW Standards.

• Understand how to source additional research materials as required.

• Know how to prepare a file for fieldwork, ensuring proper organization for the field crew.

• Acknowledge when it's necessary to consult with the Project Manager.

• Recognize when to reach out to the Team Lead for assistance.

• Identify when additional evidence is needed.

• Comprehend the IBW CAD and Quality Control processes.

• Adhere to all IBW protocols relating to calculation sketches, CAD drawings, file uploads, and more.

• Provide clear calculation sketches for the CAD Operator's drafting needs.

• Recognize when to seek consultation with the signing OLS for complex boundary retracements or calculations that exceed their capabilities.

• Read and evaluate metes and bounds descriptions competently.

• Possess strong research skills and identify when further research material is necessary.

• Knowledge of AOLS and IBW Standards is essential.

• Ability to obtain additional research materials as needed.

• Know how to organize files for fieldwork appropriately for the field crew.

• Recognize when it's appropriate to consult with the Project Manager.

• Be aware of when to reach out to the Team Lead for guidance.

• Identify instances when more evidence is necessary.

• Understand the processes of IBW CAD and Quality Control.

• Comply with all IBW protocols concerning calculation sketches, CAD drawings, file uploads, etc.
