Senior Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Provide advice on financial regulatory frameworks such as PSD2, CRD, CRR, and MiFID II while ensuring compliance throughout operations.

• Assist in structuring financial transactions and overseeing the launch and modification of credit products.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements, including financing contracts, service agreements, outsourcing contracts, and partnership deals.

• Aid teams in communicating with regulators and other authorities within the EU regarding licensing, reporting, and various regulatory issues.

• Offer legal counsel during product development to guarantee regulatory and product compliance.

• Provide legal support to our marketing team to ensure adherence to applicable regulations.

• Collaborate with claims, operations, customer support, and transaction monitoring teams.

• Engage in dispute resolution and provide advice on litigation strategies when necessary.

• Assist in litigation processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in a distinguished law firm, fintech, bank, or regulatory authority in an EU member state.

• Admittance to the bar in the Netherlands or Germany.

• Comprehensive understanding of EU and local regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2, CRD, CRR, MiFID II).

• Proven success in structuring and executing international financial transactions.

• Experience in payment services and credit products, including SME lending; familiarity with trading products is advantageous.

• Proficient in English; proficiency in Dutch or any other EU member state language is a significant plus.

• Business-minded and comfortable operating in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
