This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
• Provide guidance to product and business teams on the design, structuring, and rollout of new products and features.
• Evaluate the integration of crypto and web3 products within relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Generate comprehensive regulatory analysis addressing inquiries such as token classification and derivatives.
• Oversee and assist with license applications from start to finish.
• Monitor regulatory advancements in the areas of crypto, web3, fintech, and payments.
• Recognize legal and regulatory challenges early and offer clear, strategic advice.
• Incorporate compliance considerations into product design, including AML, KYC, and sanctions.
• Assess marketing and customer-facing materials for adherence to regulatory standards.
• Provide counsel on conflicts of interest, particularly those stemming from affiliated venues.
• Facilitate ongoing regulatory compliance across different markets.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts across various business sectors.
• Address inquiries and information requests from internal teams and regulatory bodies.
• Assist in developing scalable internal guidelines and processes to maintain compliance.
• Licensed attorney with 4 to 7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in-house, with direct experience advising crypto or web3 enterprises.
• Solid understanding of the regulatory frameworks relevant to crypto, web3, fintech, or financial services.
• Familiarity with regulations related to financial promotions and marketing as they pertain to financial or crypto products.
• Knowledge of the regulations governing trading, brokerage, or market infrastructure activities.
• Proven experience in regulatory, licensing, product, and commercial matters.
• Comfortable working across various jurisdictions and eager to learn about unfamiliar regulatory regimes quickly.
• Ability to work independently and reliably under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to clarify regulatory matters to non-lawyers.
• A practical, solution-focused mindset.
• Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing competing priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in English.
• Preferred: Experience with licensing or registration for crypto, payments, or financial service providers.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks across multiple regions.
• Working knowledge of AML and KYC obligations, sanctions, and consumer or data protection regulations.
• Experience in direct engagement with regulators.
• Proficiency in speaking and writing in Chinese is an advantage.
