Senior Lead – Software Engineering Specialist, Workday Time Tracking, Absence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, test, and implement Workday Time Tracking and Absence solutions.

• Act as a subject matter expert for Workday Time Tracking and Absence functionalities.

• Take ownership of solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment in alignment with global business requirements.

• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, downstream teams, integration partners, and technical teams.

• Convert business requirements into effective Workday configuration solutions.

• Provide guidance on best practices and identify impacts across related domains.

• Ensure that solutions are precise, compliant, scalable, sustainable, and supportable.

• Support operational Workday environments, including troubleshooting and making configuration changes in live systems.

• Drive projects to completion with minimal oversight while managing competing priorities.

• Evaluate end-to-end impacts throughout the Hire-to-Retire lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of hands-on experience in Workday configuration, with a strong focus on Time Tracking and Absence.

• Proven ability to independently design and deliver Workday configuration solutions from requirement gathering to deployment.

• In-depth understanding of time, absence, and payroll-related business processes, including downstream impacts.

• Experience in supporting production Workday environments, including troubleshooting and making configuration changes in live systems.

• Background in supporting global or multi-country Workday deployments.

• Familiarity with Workday business process frameworks, security considerations, and reporting implications related to Time and Absence.

• Capability to translate business requirements into scalable and supportable Workday solutions using best-practice configuration methods.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities in an enterprise, cross-functional environment.

• Preferred: experience configuring additional Workday functional areas such as Compensation, Benefits, or Projects.

• Preferred: experience working within a matrixed or global team.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, HRIS, or a related field.
