Senior Kafka/RabbitMQ Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• A skilled engineer with hands-on experience in distributed systems, gained through real-world production incidents, cluster tuning under load, and the creation of practical runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Management and operation of distributed messaging systems, including RabbitMQ and Apache Kafka;

• Operational oversight of Apache Spark workloads, covering deployments, scalability, and monitoring;

• Troubleshooting and support for distributed infrastructures and critical data environments;

• Establishment of governance, security, and continuous monitoring practices for messaging and data platforms;

• Creation of technical documentation, architecture, and operational procedures;

• Knowledge of AMQP, topics, queues, partitions, offsets, delivery guarantees, and message ordering;

• Configuration and optimization of Kafka clusters and RabbitMQ environments in a production setting;

• Familiarity with DataOps practices and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python/Bash scripts);

• Expertise in advanced integration between messaging platforms and data pipelines;

• Operation and management of ingestion systems such as Debezium or Apache NiFi;

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for overseeing containerized environments;

• Certification in messaging administration.
