Senior Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing Java-based web applications.

• Strong proficiency in the German language.

• Structured and self-driven working approach.

• Capability to offer clear and well-reasoned justifications for technical choices.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot and recognized Java frameworks.

• Expertise in SQL, covering data modeling to crafting high-performance queries.

• Experience in creating solution designs and executing them in agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Solid understanding of HTTP communication protocols, such as REST.

• Experience with model-driven API contract generation using OpenAPI is advantageous.

• Willingness to participate in the team’s second-level on-call rotation, approximately one week per month.

• Previous experience in e-commerce is beneficial.

• Familiarity with Apache Solr and/or search engineering is a plus.

• Experience in AI-assisted software development and, where applicable, spec-driven development is a plus.

• Knowledge of microservices, self-contained systems, and asynchronous communication via Kafka is a plus.

• Experience with Git and a professional code review culture is a plus.

• Familiarity with testing strategies and concepts, including integration and end-to-end testing, is a plus.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.
