Senior IT Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning and execution of extensive device infrastructure projects that have a significant impact across the organization.

• Lead IT Change Management efforts related to endpoint management, software updates, and fleet operations.

• Manage and operate cloud-based Apple MDM platforms (Iru), including custom configuration profiles and advanced policy management.

• Utilize AI tools to address real infrastructure challenges (automated remediation, enhanced alerting, and reducing manual tasks that hinder device operations) and influence future developments.

• Take charge of third-party software patching workflows to ensure the fleet remains up-to-date with minimal disruption to employees.

• Approach all rollouts with a strong emphasis on user experience, thoughtfully phasing implementations, proactively communicating, and designing for minimal disruption.

• Contribute to the design and implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures for the Device Infrastructure Services team.

• Foster relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.

• Be available for occasional 24/7 on-call shifts to guarantee uninterrupted support and address incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of technical experience in an IT role, with a minimum of 2 years in an IT engineering or systems administrator position focusing on cloud-first endpoint management.

• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and CI/CD workflows applied to device management within a large enterprise environment (500+ endpoints), achieving security standards such as third-party patch compliance goals.

• Proven senior-level experience with Apple MDM platforms, specifically Iru.

• Practical experience in designing and deploying automation with agentic or LLM-based components in IT or device management contexts, coupled with the discernment to recognize when existing tools are preferable.

• Advanced scripting skills in Bash, along with experience in other shell scripts for endpoint automation and fleet operations.

• Hands-on experience in implementing device trust principles, including phishing-resistant authentication, conditional access, and endpoint compliance policies at scale.
