Senior Inventory and Cost Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures, which encompass journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting schedules.

• Prepare and carry out cost accounting functions including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.

• Oversee inventory accounting operations, which involve balance reviews, aging analysis, and reserve assessments.

• Ensure that inventory accounting practices comply with company policies, while also providing support for technical accounting analyses as required.

• Collaborate with 3PL vendors and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to facilitate data collection for the accounting and reporting of inventory.

• Maintain internal controls and fulfill audit requirements by preparing schedules, preserving documentation, and addressing audit inquiries.

• Provide assistance with revenue accounting tasks as necessary, including, but not limited to, support for closing processes, reconciliations, analytics, and reporting.

• Spot opportunities to enhance reporting and automate recurring tasks to boost accuracy and efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field in business administration.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant and progressive experience.

• Background in commercial therapeutic biotechnology companies.

• Strong understanding of inventory accounting procedures, including valuation, physical inventory, manufacturing and costing, as well as standard cost accounting conventions.

• Proficient in Inventory Cost accounting within a NetSuite environment.

• Experience in public accounting.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
