Senior Insurance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Manage claims inventory to minimize outstanding accounts receivable.

• Communicate professionally with patients and insurance companies regarding their unpaid balances.

• Collect information from patients, family members, clinical areas, government agencies, employers, third-party payors, and medical payment programs, among others.

• Request, enter, confirm, and update patient demographic details, primary care provider, and payor information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and prompt responses to inquiries related to benefits, billing, claims, payments, etc.

• Clarify charges, respond to inquiries, and convey various requirements, policies, and procedures about patient financial care services and resources to patients, staff, payors, and agencies.

• Collaborate with Claims and Collections to support patients and their families with billing and payment processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Billing/Follow-up.

• At least 2 years of experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors is mandatory.

• A minimum of 2 years' experience with Benchmark and/or Star McKesson.

• 2+ years of experience with California payers.

• 2+ years of experience in Hospital Billing.

• Proficient in PC-based applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• A download speed of 30MB or higher and an upload speed of 10MB or higher are REQUIRED.

• Must have access to a secure and private workspace.

• Willingness to undergo a background check.
