Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Cribl

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance data pipelines for observability and security platforms.

• Oversee Cribl Stream / Edge deployments to facilitate efficient log routing, transformation, and cost management across security and monitoring frameworks.

• Provide 24/7 operational support for Cribl Stream infrastructure and associated data pipelines.

• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues related to data ingestion, routing, and transformation.

• Maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation for operational workflows.

• Participate in on-call rotations and manage escalation procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in Information Technology or equivalent experience, OR Technical Certification and/or college coursework with 6 years of Information Technology experience, OR 8 years of Information Technology experience.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in CRIBL pipeline development.

• Extensive experience in log management, data pipelines, and observability tools.

• Practical expertise in Cribl and related platforms such as Cribl Lake, Elastic, Dynatrace, or cloud-native logging solutions.

• Experience with Windows, Linux, CentOS, and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

• Familiarity with data ingestion, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) techniques, preferably with Logstash and Beats.

• Experience in multi-node clustering, architecture, development, implementation, and health monitoring of indexes.

• Knowledge of hot/warm/cold data/index lifecycle management implementations.

• Understanding of Elasticsearch management, reindexing, data mappings, JSON and KQL searching syntax, and Kibana dashboard functionalities.

• Experience with automated configuration management tools and playbooks (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Blade Logic, etc.), Docker containers, and GitHub.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure.

• Experience working within DevOps structured and Agile organizations.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and act promptly.
