This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for the design, planning, and execution of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies, particularly AVD, to ensure end users experience optimal functionality while safeguarding application security.
• Regularly assess the VDI infrastructure to keep software up to date and ensure security patches are applied.
• Assist in ongoing monitoring initiatives to proactively address environmental challenges.
• Maintain thorough documentation for the VDI environment, including diagrams, comprehensive assessments, and design documentation.
• Implement Azure scripts and workbooks to enhance automation of AVD functionalities.
• Oversee and maintain the AVD Image; apply patches to monthly images and deploy host pool updates alongside the monthly image.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to AVD and Azure.
• Manage and oversee the autoscaling of AVD resources to guarantee adequate virtual resources are available.
• Establish and monitor usage trend data for AVD consumption, adapting automation to align with service usage fluctuations.
• Track cost consumption for AVD and identify, recommend, and implement strategies for cost reduction.
• Oversee individual tasks and collaborate efficiently across various teams.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience (a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field may substitute for 5 years of experience).
• In-depth hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Significant experience with core Azure platform services and their native functionalities.
• Azure Administrator or Developer certification (or higher) is required.
• Familiarity with other desktop virtualization solutions such as Citrix or VMware.
• Experience in integrating, securing, and comprehending the following Microsoft platform services: Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Windows AD-integrated PKI, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Proven experience in securing systems according to STIGs, best practices, and industry compliance requirements (such as NIST 800-53, FISMA, FEDRAMP).
