Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Citrix VDI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the lifecycle for the golden image and machine catalog, encompassing building, patching, testing, releasing, and executing clean rollbacks.

• Diagnose issues related to sessions, profiles, and application delivery, which includes logon duration, profile containers, printing, peripherals, and protocol performance.

• Oversee platform access layers, including gateways, brokers, certificates, and integration of MFA.

• Act as the technical lead during incidents that impact VDI and drive towards resolution.

• Optimize host pools and delivery groups based on session and resource data.

• Manage autoscaling, power management, and cloud consumption effectively.

• Automate image builds, catalog updates, and health checks utilizing scripting and platform APIs.

• Compose root cause analyses, implement structured change management, and uphold technical documentation.

• Lead the delivery of VDI projects, which includes scoping, estimation, design, migration, and implementation.

• Provide client status updates and offer best-practice advice.

• Mentor junior engineers to enhance their skills.

• Collaborate with teams across infrastructure, network, and service desks.

• Work alongside a global network operations center, managing initial monitoring and triage.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years in infrastructure engineering.

• At least 3 years dedicated to VDI or end-user computing platforms.

• Proficiency in English.

• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise VDI platform, such as Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, DaaS, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Omnissa Horizon.

• Familiarity with the other two VDI platforms.

• Strong skills in Windows Server and Windows client administration, covering Group Policy, Intune, and profile management.

• Practical knowledge of the compute, storage, and networking layers that support VDI, including VMware vSphere or Azure, shared storage, load balancing, DNS, and certificates.

• Ability to automate tasks using AI tools, scripting languages like PowerShell or equivalents, and direct interaction with platform APIs.

• Experience in drafting formal root cause analyses and working within a structured change management framework.

• Excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions and the capability to work independently across various client environments.

• Previous experience in an MSP or similar multi-client role, ideally supporting multiple customer environments concurrently.

• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Preferred: Certifications in Citrix, Microsoft (AZ-140), Omnissa VDI, or similar virtualization credentials.

• Preferred: Experience with application layering or packaging, as well as GPU-backed or graphics-intensive workloads.

• Preferred: Familiarity with VDI monitoring and analytics tools such as Citrix Director, ControlUp, or Azure Monitor.
