This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take the lead in transitioning from outsourced database management to an in-house model.

• Ensure the stabilization of our legacy Oracle environments while implementing our modernization strategy across a multi-cloud infrastructure.

• Drive the architectural transformation of our database workloads from Oracle to PostgreSQL.

• Act as the technical lead for essential business systems, design scalable and cost-efficient database solutions, and assist in modernizing our technology stack.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in Oracle Database Administration (11g/12c/19c) within diverse environments (Linux and Windows).

• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL database administration, with practical experience in migrating enterprise-scale workloads from Oracle to PostgreSQL.

• Demonstrated success in managing databases in multi-cloud environments (proficient in AWS and GCP is essential; experience with Azure is advantageous).

• Familiarity with or experience in managing Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) environments is a significant asset.

• General understanding of Oracle License Management Services (LMS) and compliance strategies.

• Experience with enterprise-level automated job scheduling and database performance monitoring tools.

• In-depth knowledge of database design, logical data models, and data normalization principles.
