Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and execution of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, supporting both Candidly's AI and SaaS offerings.

• Drive the architectural vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives while identifying risks before they escalate into issues.

• Own and enforce best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automated deployments.

• Take charge of automating and expediting SDLC processes — pinpointing bottlenecks in our build and delivery pipeline, and designing solutions that enhance the overall pipeline efficiency, whether through AI-assisted tools or traditional automation methods.

• Act as a subject matter expert in cloud architecture, containerization, and observability.

• Lead incident response efforts and post-mortems with an emphasis on systemic improvements rather than just immediate fixes.

• Proactively identify and address gaps before they become compounded issues.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7+ years of practical experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

• Expert-level knowledge of AWS services: EC2, ELB, ASG, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, CDK, and Route 53.

• Strong understanding of Linux administration and networking principles (VPNs, VPC peering, NAT, DNS, firewalls).

• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for container orchestration at scale using CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English — capable of articulating trade-offs to both engineers and stakeholders.

• Comfortable working remotely and independently.

• Moderate-level experience with Azure, with the ability to operate across multi-cloud and multi-region environments.

• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline management (AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI, or similar tools).

• Strong skills in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, and Ansible.

• Comprehensive understanding of monitoring and logging systems and strategies (AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, Azure Monitor).

• Hands-on experience with high-availability architectures and auto-scaling methodologies.

• Solid understanding of AWS security best practices: IAM, encryption, Secrets Manager, and security auditing.

• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, Redshift).

• Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Fargate).

• Knowledge of database replication strategies.

• Experience in a high-growth, regulated sector (Fintech), specifically in architecting and scaling infrastructure to ensure reliability and compliance amid rapid user and transaction growth.

• Proven technical leadership skills, including enhancements in infrastructure processes.

• AWS Professional-level certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional).

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, EventBridge).

• Experience with cost optimization strategies for AWS environments.

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC, NIST, ISO, CCPA, GDPR).

• Experience integrating AWS services with third-party tools for enhanced observability and security.

• Experience with both single-tenant and multi-tenant architectures, as well as client on-premises deployment systems.

• Familiarity with scalable and reproducible ML pipelines, tools, and frameworks (Kubeflow, MLflow, Amazon SageMaker).

• Data engineering experience involving large-scale data processing and storage.

• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence, including best practices for ticket management and KPI tracking.
