Senior Infra Engineer – Baremetal Orchestration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain the host provisioning stack: PXE boot, Ansible, and burn-in agents

• Advance the orchestration engine for managing clusters, containers, and VMs

• Enhance the efficiency of the bin packing algorithm

• Take charge of internal tools for Railway engineers

• Establish observability and alerting mechanisms for fleet issues

• Design and oversee CI pipelines for infrastructure code

• Define infrastructure based on the principles of immutable architecture using Terraform and Ansible

• Create Golang/Rust GRPC services capable of accommodating millions of users

• Draft Engineering Requirement Documents for various projects

• Strong comprehension of distributed systems

• Practical experience with bare metal provisioning and configuration management

• Proficiency in building and managing internal tools

• Solid intuition regarding the sustainability of solutions

• Capability to implement solutions and develop monitors for error boundaries

• Excellent sense of direction and prioritization in ambiguous situations

• Determination to tackle challenges, implement, scale, and replace solutions as necessary

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration
