Senior Information Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the security architecture, engineering design choices, and enterprise risk mitigation strategies that bolster the Cottage Health Information Security program.

• Responsible for the design, development, configuration, and implementation of security solutions.

• Directs and oversees the tactical execution of pertinent security initiatives and services.

• Key responsibilities encompass security architecture, firewalls, monitoring and response, endpoint security, vulnerability management, security incident response, and forensics.

• Aids the Information Security Team in conducting security assessments, product evaluations, project support, and other operational tasks necessary for the Information Security program and strategic objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline. Alternatively, 8 years of progressively responsible work experience in the related field may be considered in place of a degree.

• Minimum: One or more relevant technical or professional security certifications such as SANS/GIAC, ISC(2), CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, Offensive Security, EC-Council, or COMPTIA Network+ Security+ CySA+, Pentest+, CASP OR 5 years of direct experience in one or more of the following information security CBK domains: Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Engineering, Communications and Network Security, Identity and Access Management, Security Assessment and Testing, Security Operations, Software Development Security.

• Minimum: Familiarity with various security technologies and tools, including firewalls, endpoint solutions, network scanners, etc. Proficiency in operating systems, client/server technology, WAN & LAN technologies, communication protocols, PKI & encryption.

• Minimum: 8 years of IT administration experience, with 6 years specifically concentrated on IT Security.

• Preferred: 9+ years of IT administration experience with over 7 years in IT Security.
