This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide and uphold exemplary customer service to policyholders, agents, and marketing centers.
• Oversee ongoing claims by gathering additional medical and financial documentation or conducting investigations as necessary.
• Assess claims and underwriting files to ensure accurate disclosure of medical history, exclusions, riders, and endorsements.
• Make determinations regarding claim benefit eligibility and communicate decisions to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain thorough documentation of the claim file to ensure a precise record of all events occurring during the claims process.
• Acquire necessary file information and review it against policy provisions to confirm eligibility.
• Diligently manage claim records within the system to guarantee the accuracy of reserve calculations.
• A university degree in any field or equivalent experience.
• 2–3+ years of experience in claims adjudication, preferably in disability claims.
• A strong commitment to customer service with effective negotiation abilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, along with strong oral and written communication abilities in English.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical conditions and terminology.
• A solid understanding of underwriting processes.
