This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead engagements focused on incident response.
• Create and implement innovative techniques to identify malicious actors within extensive data sets.
• Conduct intrusion investigations under the guidance of external legal counsel.
• Execute host- and network-based forensic analysis across Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
• Carry out basic malware analysis.
• Generate written and oral reports, presentations, recommendations, and findings for customer management, regulatory bodies, and legal advisors.
• Exhibit thought leadership in the industry through blog entries, CrowdCasts, and public speaking engagements.
• Experience in one or more areas including: leadership in a matrixed consulting environment; conducting incident response investigations; performing computer forensic analysis; network forensic analysis; reverse engineering; incident remediation; network operations and architecture/engineering; cloud incident response; and communication with clients and internal teams.
• Experience in incident response investigations of targeted threats such as Advanced Persistent Threats, Organized Crime, and Hacktivist activities.
• Familiarity with forensic analysis tools and network protocols.
• Experience with Bro/Zeek or Suricata and related network logs.
• Capability to conduct static and dynamic malware analysis.
• Strong grasp of targeted attacks and the development of customized remediation strategies.
• Comprehensive understanding of secure network architecture and operational practices.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP incident response strategies.
• Ability to execute technical tasks independently.
• Eagerness to enhance both technical and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management capabilities.
• Recognized thought leader within the incident response sector.
• Ability to cultivate a positive workplace atmosphere and mindset.
• Willingness to travel on short notice, up to 30% of the time.
• Proven experience leveraging AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and achieve business objectives.
• BA or BS / MA or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Security, Information Assurance, Information Security Management, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Policy, or a related discipline.
• Candidates without a degree but possessing relevant work experience and/or training will also be considered.
• The role may require undergoing and successfully passing alcohol and/or drug tests during employment.
