
Senior Human Resources Business Partner – West Coast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Guides strategic employee initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives in areas such as talent management, performance, compensation, training, and culture initiatives.
• Develops robust business relationships with internal stakeholders (VP+ level), serving as the primary contact for all people-related matters within the business unit, including performance management, employee relations, conducting HR investigations, enhancing engagement, minimizing turnover, talent planning, and handling terminations and exit interviews.
• Utilizes extensive HR knowledge and may mentor new or existing HRBP team members on policies and practices.
• Works autonomously to identify and implement solutions for complex business challenges.
• Leads and manages change management projects and oversees HR-related internal and external communications within the business unit.
• Provides coaching to managers on all facets of people management, including employee development, disciplinary actions, terminations, and employee engagement, using data and trends to inform decisions.
• Aids in the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs across the organization, optimizing usage, recommending impactful changes, and creating enduring solutions to employee issues.
• Engages in and leads special projects concerning global HR processes, applying effective project management skills and tracking methods.
• Fosters high-performing teams using people data and metrics regularly provided to business units.
• Collaborates closely with the internal Talent Acquisition team to ensure alignment between business needs, culture, and candidates for onboarding and internal mobility requirements.
• Works alongside the Learning & Development team to assist in creating educational materials and conducting training programs as necessary.
• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of global legal requirements related to daily employee management, minimizing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with the legal department as needed.
• Participates in ensuring company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal reporting mandates, including those related to EEO, AAP, ADA, FMLA, DOL, Worker Compensation, and more.
• Delivers excellent customer service to all stakeholders, ensuring that HR consistently adds value throughout the organization.
• Upholds the highest levels of integrity when handling confidential information.
• 3–8 years of experience in an HRBP, HR professional, or similar role; preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• 3–5 years specifically focused on Employee Relations, HR investigations, and/or other highly confidential and sensitive employment matters.
• Proven ability to consult and influence senior leaders to advance strategic HR initiatives.
• Foundational understanding of relevant state and federal regulatory requirements, principles, and procedures in human resources; FMLA, ERISA, FLSA, HIPAA, CFRA, OFCCP, and more (or proficient at researching online).
• Subject matter expertise in ANZ employment law and experience supporting ANZ clients is highly desirable, especially for candidates who can share insights from previous HRBP roles.
• Current HR certification is advantageous, such as SPHR, SHRM-CP, CIPD, etc., or a commitment to obtaining one.
• Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, capable of delivering outstanding customer service in a dynamic environment with a flexible approach.
• Proven capacity to work professionally and discreetly with highly confidential information.
• Strong judgment and business acumen.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office – capable of preparing engagement presentations, analyzing data, and producing clear written documents.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time to support all offices.
