Senior HR Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations and Transitions – APAC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits independently across various international jurisdictions.

β€’ Offer guidance on termination, resignation, transfer protocols, employment contracts, redundancy processes, and other HR-related issues.

β€’ Facilitate client and external employee meetings, including consultations on workforce reductions, administrative hearings, separation negotiations, settlements, and termination results.

β€’ Negotiate and influence favorable outcomes in complex terminations involving numerous stakeholders.

β€’ Collaborate with payroll, legal counsel, government entities, trade unions, and other parties to guarantee compliant offboarding and audits.

β€’ Draft, customize, and manage termination and supplementary documents while ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of employee records.

β€’ Process offboarding utilizing Remote's internal HRIS platform in conjunction with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams.

β€’ Provide informal escalation support, expertise, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members.

β€’ Offer first-level Employee Relations support and assist clients through intricate workplace scenarios.

β€’ Conduct initial assessments of workplace issues, relevant regulations, and potential solutions.

β€’ Advise internal and external stakeholders on employee relations topics, progressive discipline, documentation, and challenging situations.

β€’ Monitor and track employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-ups.

β€’ Address queries related to offboarding and first-level employee relations matters as a subject-matter expert.

β€’ Identify and drive improvements in processes, automation, product development, and enhancements to customer and employee experiences.

β€’ Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new tasks and adapt complex techniques to achieve desired results.

β€’ Report to the Manager of Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with a generalist HR skill set spanning the employee lifecycle.

β€’ Tertiary qualifications in HR, labor relations, or employment law are considered advantageous.

β€’ Proven track record in independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance.

β€’ Extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations across different jurisdictions.

β€’ Familiarity with employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and the fundamentals of workplace investigations.

β€’ Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and analyze intricate HR challenges.

β€’ Ability to independently research issues, develop actionable solutions, and convert findings into useful team resources.

β€’ Proficiency in effectively communicating recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar contexts.

β€’ Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills.

β€’ Competence in independently leading challenging conversations towards positive outcomes while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

β€’ Advanced business-level proficiency in both written and spoken English.

β€’ Aptitude for process innovation, optimization, automation, and the implementation of best practices.

β€’ Strong operational efficiency, meticulous record-keeping, and awareness of data integrity.

β€’ Tech-savvy with the ability to collaborate asynchronously using various tools and adapt to changing systems.

β€’ Capacity to work autonomously and cohesively in a fast-paced, asynchronous, international remote environment.

β€’ Willingness to work flexible hours as required.

β€’ Proactive, self-motivated, accountable, and capable of inspiring others.

β€’ Strong capabilities in automation and AI fluency.
