This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain healthcare applications and reusable components utilizing FHIR data along with standardized interoperability services.
• Create the SMART on FHIR application framework, prioritize healthcare applications, and develop CDS Hooks services.
• Construct digital quality-measure and HEDIS capabilities, ensuring integration with clinical and quality data services.
• Convert business and technical requirements into secure, scalable solutions applicable to clinical, payer-provider, public health, and quality-reporting scenarios.
• Develop application logic, user-facing workflows, backend services, and integration components.
• Collaborate with technical teams and external partners on testing, troubleshooting, documentation, deployment, and knowledge transfer.
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team goals and ensure project success.
• Work autonomously and potentially lead a work group.
• A Bachelor’s degree along with 7 or more years of relevant application development experience.
• Proven experience in developing modern web applications, encompassing both front-end and back-end components.
• Skilled in building and integrating RESTful APIs using JSON and SQL.
• Proficiency in Java or a similar programming language, as well as JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Capability to analyze business and technical requirements to resolve complex application and integration challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work independently and provide technical leadership when necessary.
• Familiarity with FHIR, SMART on FHIR, CDS Hooks, or EHR integration.
• Experience with digital quality measures, HEDIS, or clinical and quality data services.
• Background in supporting federal Health IT programs, including work with VA, DHA, or HHS.
• U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.
• All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting, when mandated for the position.
• Must be a resident of the continental U.S.
