This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.
• Oversee clinical data sets and workflows for chronic disease applications.
• Create data extraction programs, data sets, and reports to analyze gaps in terminology and health data standards.
• Develop, assess, enhance, and sustain coded value sets for clinical reminder taxonomies and templates.
• Review, enhance, and update clinical and health data domain taxonomies.
• Assist in the development of clinical applications and products encompassing analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, deployment, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
• Produce project reports and documents derived from data analysis.
• Work collaboratively with developers and agile teams on clinical reminder templates, documentation templates, clinical pathways, performance metrics, and protocols within electronic health record systems.
• Align source terms with target terminology and data messaging standards for healthcare data exchange and integration.
• Collect and document business requirements, clinical workflows, and system configuration needs.
• Develop and sustain SOPs, process documents, business rules, reference guides, and other related customer documentation.
• Partner with data scientists and subject matter experts to create NLP-based data processing solutions.
• Provide updates on project status and customer information through dashboards, presentations, graphs, and deliverables.
• Identify intricate health data challenges, policy priorities, root causes, workflow inefficiencies, and design flaws; propose solutions to program managers and clients.
• Execute additional tasks to support customer requests and project goals.
• 5–9 years of relevant experience required.
• Previous clinical experience and a background in healthcare are necessary.
• A master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with 4 years of relevant experience is required.
• Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Information Systems, or a related scientific field.
• Experience with VA EHR platforms such as CPRS, VistA, and/or Oracle Health/Cerner Millennium.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe.
• Experience in evaluating, creating, and maintaining data dictionaries, controlled vocabularies, schema governance, and taxonomy data models.
• Excellent written communication and technical/process documentation abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for intricate clinical data analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R.
• Knowledge of SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, HL7, FHIR, CDA, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, HEDIS measures, OWL, and NLP.
• Strong informatics and computer skills tailored for complex clinical data analysis.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Capable of comprehending complex verbal instructions, independently researching solutions, and adhering to tight deadlines.
• Proficient in multitasking and managing various priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Capable of articulating complex ideas and solutions clearly.
• Must reside in one of the hiring states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, MD, MI, SC, TX, VA, or WI.
• Access to high-speed internet adequate for video conferencing is essential.
• Fully remote/virtual work environment.
• Relocation expenses are not covered.
